So, apparently, my mind's way of dealing with the stress of not having really studied for finals is to watch Arrested Development and read SPN crack-fic. *headdesk* I really hate finals. And these are even worse, because two of them are on Monday, and I have to pull at least one of my B's up to an A for my scholarship. Seriously, college. Could you suck any harder? At least this time on Thursday I'll be free. Of course, there won't be anything to do, because our Xbox 360 is brick'd. *headdesk x bajillionty* I was going to go out and buy Mass Effect, too. And finish the Oblivion expansion pack. AND OH YEAH HYSTERIA WAS JUST ABOUT TO COME OUT ON ROCK BAND. *pouts* Ugh. I should study for Statistics re: that A I need, but... all I keep thinking is "How hard could it be? PUH!" So that's not going to end well. Also, I have no willpower, and I watched those preview clips for the next episode of SPN. <333333333333333333333333333333333333333 33333333333 That is all. Except I kind of hate randomfangirl29 for being my enabler. *goes back to drawing pictures of Ed and Corbett with little hearts around them*

1) We finished the 7th season of Buffy this past week, and I absolutely loved it. I think the second season will always be my favorite, and the sixth my least favorite. In conclusion, hoo-boy Angel was hot in the first season, yay Oz, yay pirate!Xander, yay Anya, yay Andrew, and whoo Joss Whedon. :) And boo Nathan Fillion. Seriously, that accent was TERRIBLE.
So... the roommate and I are looking for something else to watch in the one month (ONE MONTH! OMG.) we have left at school. We'll probably watch Firefly, but if you saw the way we tore through seven seasons of Buffy in essentially two months, you'd understand why we need recs. :) I don't think we're likely to watch Angel just because... while we're both hopeless Angel fangirls (and occasionally I love Spike. What? It happens!) that show plumbs depths of terrible I don't think we're ready for.
2) Fish!Dean died. :( So fish!Sam is lonely, but fish!Bobby won't let him sell his soul to bring Dean back, so now I don't think they're speaking, and there's generally a lot of depression. All I'm saying is fish!Trickster better be watching himself. If our fish are predictive for the show, well... let's just say I hope they aren't. We're thinking of getting another goldfish and naming him Angel. Re: Hopeless fangirls.
3 Still Alive = the most addictive thing EVER on Rock Band. I got my brother's headset and sang and played guitar at the same time and OMG MORE FUN THAN ANYONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO HAVE. I seriously need to play that game.
4) I'm majoring in English, at least for the time being. I finally found the school's video production/digital art courses; they were all hidden in the Art Studio classes... which, whoo, random. Only problem is I have to take a class in 3D art next semester before I'm allowed to take the Photoshop class, and that one before I can take the Graphic Design/Web Design/Video Production classes. I wouldn't mind taking the classes, but there's a part of me that thinks I could just learn all this on the internet. I don't know. I'm considering a minor in something to that effect.
I decided to just go with the English thing because I've always loved writing, just... I've never actually put anything I've written on the internets. I may dabble in fanfic just to see if I like that sort of thing. I don't know if I want to be a writer or an editor, though. Whatever. I'm just going to go for this and see what happens. The classes look really fun and awesome, and that's what I was waiting for. I want to look forward to waking up every morning. Unfortunately, three of my classes this semester aren't going to count for anything anymore, but... I really enjoyed Political Science, and may take another class in that discipline just cause. And I learned what I most certainly didn't want to do, which was quite helpful. :)
5) I finally got my SPN videos put into a format I can edit in Premiere! ENDLESS RUBY-CENTRIC VIDEOS, HERE I COME! :D

The weatherman used the term "Thunder Snow" to describe what we are currently experiencing. All I know is that I'd like the little chunks of ice that are hiting my window to cease fire. It makes this weird crackly-scratching noise and it's just creepy. So... yeah. The roads are totally covered, but I'm hoping that we can still SPN marathon tomorrow. Mostly because I'm craving Skittles. Maybe that's why I like Show so much--I associate it with food. <3
In other, flail-tastic news, There's a slight maybe small tiny chance that Muse's Hysteria could end up on the game. The very song that I have been proclaiming my love for and declaring a dire need for in Rock Band for going on about two months now. Oh, please, Harmonix, let this be true. I almost woke my brother up in the dead of night to tell him about this (but didn't for fear of being savagely attacked) and I just... MUSE. OMG. MAKE THIS HAPPEN. And if you could throw in some Led Zeppelin, I'm sure they wouldn't even notice. Seriously. Just put the songs up there, and once I've had a chance to download it, I'll give y'all a call and you can take it down before the execs even figure anything out! It's a perfect, foolproof plan!
I really need to stop writing LJ entries whilst I'm home and awake all by myself. Ah, well. I'm seriously contemplating going outside and playing in the snow. It's 23 degrees and I have shorts on, but it just looks so pretty. :D

I'm at the pizza place my family usually goes to just about every night of the week. Honestly. We're in a rut. And have problems?
So anyways. The other day I was downloading Metallica songs (something that I find ironically fun and delightful), and I accidentally got some covers... some like... Banjo covers. They're fantastic, and hick-ish, and... if you've never heard Ride the Lightning in that fashion, your life is truly lacking.
So this weekend, we had Rock Band in our dorm room, and we rocked. We rocked so loud, and so hard, that people actually came into the room to check on us. I guess when I sing Radiohead, I sound like a dying cat. Or something. Regardless, my voice is manlier than Thom Yorke's; whether it's good or bad, who knows. :)
I have to write a paper on Oedipus this week, and finish reading Al Gore's "The Assault on Reason". Pretty much, I love college. :)
Tomorrow, Dayna's birthday lunch at Malone's, and Monday, CLOVERFIELD. So no spoilers. I'm already surrounded by people who've seen it as it is. :P

Batman. Batman, Batman.... BATMAN.
Batman. Joker.
Omg that trailer is full of way too much love. If there's anyone out there that missed the first 6-7 minutes of the movie in crappy bootleg quality footage, I've got it saved to my computer. So I can help you out. :) Just let me know.
So, yeah. Been obsessing about that. Went to see the Golden Compass two nights ago and thought it was pretty meh. I liked it, I'm interested in seeing a sequel, but I don't think it's going to happen. So I'm not getting obsessed. XD Besides, Hobbit! In 2009! Whoo! :D
Also, Rock Band. That's why I've been gone. I beat to "Enter Sandman" last night, and wow. Just, wow. Never thought I'd get to belt it out again for points. Bwahaha. I'm such a not-bad singer that I can play on Medium on vocals. I wish the guitar was a little harder, and that we didn't have one of the defective controllers, but eh. Such is life. I am also real at the drums. My brother fancies himself a drummer, though, so... I don't get to play other than by myself. He also has no sense of rhythm, so that makes that particular exercise painful.
Anyway, his friends are coming over tonight, and we're going to ROCK. YES. WE ARE. OH YES.
ROCK. | |

I got a new phone last night. His name is Charles and he makes sparkly noises and sparkles and is purple. He is also much thinner than my old phone, and fits in my pocket. He can also apparently play mp3s as ringtones, unlike my old phone. My old phone didn't even have a name. It was that crappy. Oh, yes.
My mom and brother got iPhones. I could've had it instead of my brother, but I decided that I 1) already spend way too much time online and 2) it would probably get stolen/lost/destroyed and then where would I be? Weeping. In a corner. That's where.
But anyways, we switched to AT&T, and I have unlimited text messaging, and all that stuff. For the first time ever. So. Let us all join together and talk incessantly. :D
I really haven't done too much productive thus far on my Christmas break; I cleaned my closet out yesterday, but that was only to find my Batman costume. I found my t-shirt, but the pants aren't as baggy as I thought they were, so... I'm not sure if the t-shirt is gonna work. I may use a tank top instead. I don't know yet. Regardless, I'll have a cape, so... yeah. You really can't go wrong if you put a cape over something.
Oh, I'm so incredibly hyper. I should play Oblivion. Or piano. Or Eugene (who needs to be tuned). Or work on my flash movie.
Also, Rock Band tomorrow. Yeah, that's right; tomorrow. Probably around 11:30AM EST, you'll hear a shout ring out from the land, and lo the masses will sing "Enter Sandman", and all shall be well. (Harmonix 2:38, KJV)
Unfortunately, that'll probably take a huge bite out of my productivity, especially in regards to working on the Puffchesters. Also, my scanner doesn't work. How's a girl supposed to do productive art-related things in this world of Rock Band and scanner-less-ness?!
Honestly, I don't know.

So I did none of the things I set out to do yesterday when I got home. I helped my mom grocery shop, then went home to bother my brother and play my ukulele. After dinner, we kept joking about going to Best Buy to play Rock Band[1], and somewhere along the line, we stopped joking.
So I got behind the wheel of the Prism for the first time in a month, and blasted Led Zeppelin the whole way there[2]. It was delightful. We also parked in the boonies and ran skipping the entire way in[3].
When we first got there, there were two girls playing, so I sidled up to the drums and started rocking not realizing they were on lefty flip. So... that was an interesting experience. It did totally feel backwards, but it's really not all that much different and I wonder slightly why they have that option in there...? But anyways, the kick pedal on the drum is broken, so it's very hard to play songs with kick pedal in them if the people playing the guitars can't get any star power to save you. *cough, cough*
So the fun didn't really kick in until Nick got up there with the guitar, and this other guy came along and played bass. Nick had a cheat code that unlocked all the songs, so we played a few that we never had, and a good time was generally had by all. :)
Then the crazy started to happen. I turned around on the drums and saw a little kid standing there, so I asked him if he wanted to play[4]. Then I joked that I'd sing. Little did I know, they actually have the microphone hooked up, and Nick knew how to make it work.
So he made me sing.
In public.
Because he's a jerk.
Now, let's get one thing straight. I don't sing. It's because I know I can't. That's the reason my Tribute movie was such an incredibly horrible task; it's embarrassing for me to think about and/or let other people watch. So singing live in front of other people on a stupid video game really sucks.
Except it totally doesn't. :D
I loved it. We started out with "Say It Ain't So", and I was really nervous and angry and couldn't find a comfortable place to sing it, so it was a little awkward. But then we played "Don't Fear (The Reaper)" and I just got into the cowbell. x)
So before we left, I made Nick play Enter Sandman one more time. And I threw my hood up over my head, and told him if he saw anyone we knew to let me know so we could run[5], and I belted out "Enter Sandman".
And I have never had so much fun in my life.
Footnotes: (Yeah, I'm being this dorky again. :D) 1) Yeah, we seriously go hang out at Best Buy to play a game that we own but my mother won't give him until his birthday. I'm trying desperately to work the gas money angle, but it's not working. e.x; 2) Me:"They played this song at their concert, too!" Nick: Mmmmmmhmmmmmmmmmm..... *changes music to Metallica* 3) Singing "Enter Sandman" at this point. Nick had been saying someone had unlocked it on the game at Best Buy, so I was a little excited. :D 4) Hey, I'm not about to get eviscerated by a small, creepy child just because he didn't get to play Rock Band. I've watched too many TV shows/movies with evil children to underestimate them. *shudders* 5) Seriously, we live in the smallest city ever. I had no idea until this past summer, a girl from school wrote on my Facebook wall about seeing me ride my bike down the street. That's frightening.

We officially have Rock Band. Suffice it to say, that at my time of last posting, I had been informed by my mother, whilst it was my father who actually got the game. Unfortunately, the game is for my brother.
For his birthday.
His birthday that isn't until the 23rd of December.
Please kill me now before I die of the anticipation. Don't get me wrong; I'm totally going to join my parents in the mind-games, but... Really, now. More than a month? I go back to school at some point, ya know. Argh. La la la.
I'm in a seriously musical mood lately. Guess I'll just have to start my own rock band with Eugene and my piano. Which totally needs a name; then we could feel like a real band. :)
I think I'll call us the "Viking Kittens". Or "The Ugly Octopi". Or "Pervaphobic".
|
I've come to an incredibly scary realization; I like Justin Timberlake's music. Or at least what I've heard of it. Which is, admittedly, a lot. I... I don't know what this means about me. I'm a little scared of myself, though; that's for sure.
Thanksgiving break started today! :D I think I'm gonna hang out with Hannah and Sabrina sometime this weekend, maybe go see a movie, maybe make a movie... who knows. Good times will be had by all.
In other news, we're looking for Rock Band, and we can't find it. I didn't even know we were going to get it for sure until today, so... now everyone is sold out and I have to pine over the break.
Oh wow... My mom just turned the TV on and.... Ellen has Jeff Corwin and a hyena. A baby hyena. Omg. hyena. Oh wow. I need to get me one of those. I'll teach it to eat stupid people and ride it around. :D
