2nd-May-2008 01:43 pm - IRON MAN LIVES AGAIN!
tired sad ruby
(I wrote this last night at 3AM. That's why there's a lack of coherence. ;) It wouldn't post until now though. My feelings on SPN are still the same. I think I'm gonna watch it again right now)

So I just got back from Iron Man. :) We decided about midway through tonight that we wanted to go; tonight was a beautiful thing. It was a fitting way to say goodbye to someone I've lived with for about a year in the geekiest possible way. Plus, through a stroke of luck, we got our tickets for free (THANK YOU KATHERINE. SERIOUSLY. ELIZABETH. GIVE YOUR SISTER SO MANY HUGS FROM ME). It was awesome. Words cannot express how amazing I thought it was. :) Go see it now.

Unfortunately, it made Supernatural extra pale in comparison )
24th-Apr-2008 11:52 pm - Ghost! Ghostfacers!
Kripke is truly evil
Tonight, your review will come in the form of a numbered list. Because I'm lazy. )

So that's my squeeage. The static thing was awful. D: It made the jerky scenes entirely unwatchable. I need to watch it again in a more relaxed state to properly enjoy it, so if anyone knows where I can find it online, let me know. Thanks!

Right now, it's Lion King + Buffalo Wild Wings time. Because apparently, I'm retarded and not going to class tomorrow, the last day. Why would I want a study guide for finals? I LAUGH IN THE FACE OF DANGER.
2nd-Apr-2008 12:27 am - Things that for some reason, I just haven't gotten around to posting

1) We finished the 7th season of Buffy this past week, and I absolutely loved it. I think the second season will always be my favorite, and the sixth my least favorite. In conclusion, hoo-boy Angel was hot in the first season, yay Oz, yay pirate!Xander, yay Anya, yay Andrew, and whoo Joss Whedon. :) And boo Nathan Fillion. Seriously, that accent was TERRIBLE.

So... the roommate and I are looking for something else to watch in the one month (ONE MONTH! OMG.) we have left at school. We'll probably watch Firefly, but if you saw the way we tore through seven seasons of Buffy in essentially two months, you'd understand why we need recs. :) I don't think we're likely to watch Angel just because... while we're both hopeless Angel fangirls (and occasionally I love Spike. What? It happens!) that show plumbs depths of terrible I don't think we're ready for.

2) Fish!Dean died. :( So fish!Sam is lonely, but fish!Bobby won't let him sell his soul to bring Dean back, so now I don't think they're speaking, and there's generally a lot of depression. All I'm saying is fish!Trickster better be watching himself. If our fish are predictive for the show, well... let's just say I hope they aren't. We're thinking of getting another goldfish and naming him Angel. Re: Hopeless fangirls.

3 Still Alive = the most addictive thing EVER on Rock Band. I got my brother's headset and sang and played guitar at the same time and OMG MORE FUN THAN ANYONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO HAVE. I seriously need to play that game.

4) I'm majoring in English, at least for the time being. I finally found the school's video production/digital art courses; they were all hidden in the Art Studio classes... which, whoo, random. Only problem is I have to take a class in 3D art next semester before I'm allowed to take the Photoshop class, and that one before I can take the Graphic Design/Web Design/Video Production classes. I wouldn't mind taking the classes, but there's a part of me that thinks I could just learn all this on the internet. I don't know. I'm considering a minor in something to that effect.

I decided to just go with the English thing because I've always loved writing, just... I've never actually put anything I've written on the internets. I may dabble in fanfic just to see if I like that sort of thing. I don't know if I want to be a writer or an editor, though. Whatever. I'm just going to go for this and see what happens. The classes look really fun and awesome, and that's what I was waiting for. I want to look forward to waking up every morning. Unfortunately, three of my classes this semester aren't going to count for anything anymore, but... I really enjoyed Political Science, and may take another class in that discipline just cause. And I learned what I most certainly didn't want to do, which was quite helpful. :)

5) I finally got my SPN videos put into a format I can edit in Premiere! ENDLESS RUBY-CENTRIC VIDEOS, HERE I COME! :D
4th-Feb-2008 12:12 pm - Remind me not to study that hard ever again because it's never worth it.
ruby default ha ha
I found an AWESOME site for ukulele tabs, and thus... my weekend was made. :)

Course, I spent the vast majority of the weekend pretending to study whilst really playing said ukulele, but peh. I just got back from my Political Science test, and if I don't say so myself... well... er... I don't actually know that I did amazingly, but I'm thinking it was at least a solid B. Which would be nice. *crosses fingers*

That being said, I'm done with class for the day. :) And since I don't have any immediate impending doom tests to contend with, I might have to work on my "Making the Cut" project, which fills my heart with GREAT JOY. I honestly can't wait until I can show it off to the world. So yeah. Just a month left. :) I was going to do two, but then... college came and ate my January, so... yeah. I'll be lucky to get the first one up to my specifications. *headdesk*

I'm also going to enter a contest to be on a G4 show. Why the hell not? They're looking for young girls who like to play video games, and that just so happens to be me, so... yeah. Never said anything about having to look good enough to appear on TV. I'm assuming they'll regret leaving that out when they get my audition tape, but yeah. Whoo.

And to top off my Things-I'll-never-get-but-wouldn't-it-be-cool-if-I-did Hat Trick, my dad wants me to submit a tape of some of the highlights we did for the football video to the local news station and just see if they'll let me do some editing work for them or whatever. I honestly think this is my longest shot simply because um... I'm not that versed in football and the only reason I knew how to put it together was because my dad gave me the clips. So... probably not the best course of action.

I was going to try and go as long as I could without knowing who won the Superbowl, but alas, Megan ruined it for me as soon as she came over last night. XD So yeah. Also, the Iron Man trailer is awesome. I saw it online and became rather excited. :)
This is getting long, and what follows is rambly college stuff. :D )
Anyways. Maybe I'll play KotOR today. I have to do something to make up for all that excessive studying I did this weekend. Ugh. Plus, I just got off of Taris, so... the game is BOUND to get fun at some point. I mean, Juhani! Juhani is coming! :D I should totally fanart for KotOR again sometime. I miss it.

Also? How much do I love the new fandom-wide appreciation of Ruby? SO MUCH. <3

PS: Using this icon because OMG IF THE STRIKE ENDS SOON LIKE MY PSYCHIC TENDENCIES ARE TELLING ME THEN I WILL HAVE NO MORE USE FOR IT AND I LIKE IT. The end.

Oh, there was blackberry pie with whipped cream. And Rock band.

But there was also Supernatural. )

Alright, I gotta go to sleep now cause I've got class in the morning and then I have to study all afternoon.

In closing, RUBY.

'Night.
4th-Jan-2008 03:57 am - I come from the land of the ice and snow.
ruby default ha ha
I'm listening to this... bizarre cover of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" at 3:54 AM, with mostly trumpets and jazzy instrumentations, and all I can think of is "I should develop a heroic-ly awesome TV show that can have this as its theme so that the sheer brilliant random strangeness that is this song does not go to waste".

Seriously.

I rather wish I could go to sleep at this point.

I mean, I even made an account on Subeta. It's Gembat, btw. Just, you know. In case you want to give me a referral.

*cough*

Okay, the brightness of this monitor is now causing me to get a rather severe headache. Agggh, my brains.

Ah, snow.

This is probably the earliest we've gotten it in a long while. We had some on the 23rd, but it didn't stick. In Kentucky, this tiny bit here is enough to keep kids out of school, and thereby, make everyone happy. :)

Last night, I grabbed my brother and drug him out there while it was still coming down and we danced in the middle of that court in the torrential downpour that was the five or six flakes of snow falling at the time. I felt five years old again, which is not to say that I don't feel that old all the time lately. Being at home from school for over a month sounds good in theory, and in reality, my house is about 20 minutes from my school, but it's stressful. Very, very stressful.

My father is never happy with the way I go about finishing work for people, my mom treats me like I'm 12, and my brother is intensely selfish. I only had a full-blown shouting match with one of them yesterday (consider that yesterday I was working on that logo for the Sheriff, and you may discover who. ;P), but I've had one with each over the course of this month.

But last night, we had a good time. We sat down and watched Mythbusters and Die Hard, and the snow. And that's when me and Nick danced in the court like we were idiots, him in a short sleeve t-shirt, even. It was the most fun I've ever had this year, and I intend to repeat it.

Take for instance, the fact I can hear kids screaming all the way from the hill I intend to sled down once today. A rather busy main road might go by the top of that hill, but peh! We were 12! We were awesome! We were invincible! And we had a little cracked plastic sled. Once, we even tried to build a ramp on the already-kind-of-steep hill. With food coloring stripes on the sides to make it look like a video game. It might've broken in half the first time we tried to sled down it, but the fun of putting it together combined with the resulting crash made it all worth it.

An inch of snow brings out a lot in our city: excitedly screaming kids who aren't going to school, people who don't know their way around a patch of ice out doing 55 down said road behind the hill, and a quiet, clean-slate sort of feeling. The kind of feeling that maybe, with a little effort, I can make things go much more smoothly with my family. For starters, I'm going to run back out into that snow. :)

What a fantastic way to start off the year.
18th-Dec-2007 02:41 pm - Charles! :D
ruby default ha ha
I got a new phone last night. His name is Charles and he makes sparkly noises and sparkles and is purple. He is also much thinner than my old phone, and fits in my pocket. He can also apparently play mp3s as ringtones, unlike my old phone. My old phone didn't even have a name. It was that crappy. Oh, yes.

My mom and brother got iPhones. I could've had it instead of my brother, but I decided that I 1) already spend way too much time online and 2) it would probably get stolen/lost/destroyed and then where would I be? Weeping. In a corner. That's where.

But anyways, we switched to AT&T, and I have unlimited text messaging, and all that stuff. For the first time ever. So. Let us all join together and talk incessantly. :D

I really haven't done too much productive thus far on my Christmas break; I cleaned my closet out yesterday, but that was only to find my Batman costume. I found my t-shirt, but the pants aren't as baggy as I thought they were, so... I'm not sure if the t-shirt is gonna work. I may use a tank top instead. I don't know yet. Regardless, I'll have a cape, so... yeah. You really can't go wrong if you put a cape over something.

Oh, I'm so incredibly hyper. I should play Oblivion. Or piano. Or Eugene (who needs to be tuned). Or work on my flash movie.

Also, Rock Band tomorrow. Yeah, that's right; tomorrow. Probably around 11:30AM EST, you'll hear a shout ring out from the land, and lo the masses will sing "Enter Sandman", and all shall be well. (Harmonix 2:38, KJV)

Unfortunately, that'll probably take a huge bite out of my productivity, especially in regards to working on the Puffchesters. Also, my scanner doesn't work. How's a girl supposed to do productive art-related things in this world of Rock Band and scanner-less-ness?!

Honestly, I don't know.
15th-Nov-2007 12:29 am - I want very violently to sleep.

I love ZZ Top and Pushing Daisies.

That is all.

And oh. I have finished my powerpoint for my horse class tomorrow. :) I feel like this class has a much more technical name. But I can't for the life of me think of it. Or maybe it really is just called the horse class. Regardless, I have a prsentation tomorrow morning which means I'm totally going to stay up for the rest of the night and deliver the freaking thing on no sleep. Alas. Such is my life.

I'll put something up about Chicago probably tomorrow night, as I'll have my pictures finally. And also my roommate's, which are much better. Good times. Oh, yes. Would do again. Gladly.

Okay. That is really all.
