Last night [info]woodstarling and I were joking around about vidding, and I made an offhanded comment about making a Supernatural promo to a Lady Gaga song.

Which I then proceeded to do.

I kind of love it. I mean, I wish youtube wouldn't eat my video quality like this, but I'm happy with how this turned out. Now I just need to make one to "Boys Boys Boys".

Desert Bus has begun again!

For those of you that don't know, there's a group of guys who play Desert Bus for the Child's Play charity. The more money they raise, the longer they have to play. Desert Bus is the world's most boring video game; it involves driving a bus in real time, at 45mph from Arizona to Las Vegas. The trip takes 8 hours. The bus constantly veers right so the driver has to constantly be playing. You can't just point and go. IT IS TORTURE.

IT IS FUN TO WATCH.

They have a live feed on their site, a live chat, people make macros for every $1000 they reach, and if you donate $20 they'll do a special request from you. LIKE SING. It's glorious to watch. So that's what I'm doing for the rest of the day. The live feed is seriously entertaining because of the challenges that they are constantly doing. Plus, when they pass $22,000 (which will happen tonight), one of the guys has to go see New Moon. HOORAY FOR TORTURE! :D

If you can donate to torture them HELP THE CHILDREN, please do! To learn more or watch the live feed, you can go to their site at desertbus.org.

ENJOY!

I've been drawing a lot recently, and posting it just about everywhere other than LJ. So today I'm conflating all my drawings into a nice long post.

Why, yes, I am bored and just waiting for it to be a socially acceptable time to eat lunch. )

And that concludes our excursion into my sketchbook today.

ANON MEME

BONUS POINTS IF YOU BRING ME WANK. I'm bored and crazy and a loose cannon on the edge just WAITING for something to go down.

Yes, waiting for Thursday is starting to take a toll on me. Also studying for this stupid Art History test.

Oh my god, can you imagine the ~*ART HISTORY CLASS OF THE FUTUUUUUUUUUUURE*~?! It'll be all anime and big boobs and bizarre hentai and furries. I kind of want a time machine so I can be in the class where the teacher has to explain all the furry sculptures the anthropologists unearthed from the ruins of Indiana.

Ok ok, back to the grind.

LOOK AT THESE BAMFS:

I KNOW YOU SHIP THEM. (NO I'M NOT CUTTING THIS. I AM INSANE RIGHT NOW.

I apologize for not rly being around tonight; I've been slaving away over my paper which is TOTALLY HALF DONE OMG YOU GUYS. :D :D :D So tomorrow all I have to do is finish the easy half of my paper, learn how to translate a table-based html layout into a div-based css one, make some sweet-ass graphics for said website, make some sweet-ass content for said website, and study for Art History if I have any spare time at all. Oh and make spats. Maybe. That might have to wait until Tuesday night. /o\ BUT I HAVE TO DO IT. I JUST HAVE TO.

Oh and dye my hair.

Oh my god this week is going to kill me.

Puffs for [info]awkwardjonas :D
I told [info]awkwardjonas long ago that I'd draw her a powerpuff to have Misha autograph at ChicagoCon. Last night I made good on my promise, and threw in Chuck because I was on a roll. :D She kindly said I could share them with the rest of you, so here they are along with two icons.

I'd very much appreciate it if no one used them for anything other than these icons. That means that, yes, you can use the icons I made, just please don't make any of your own, or print this out to get signed, and so on and so forth. I drew them specially for her, so please respect that.

Ok so I did promise [info]stickymint I'd make this post, and it's been on my mind for a while, so here goes nothing. Everything here? Take it with as much salt as you'd like. I am, after all, the girl who quit the internet for scarcely a weekend and then decided that wasn't for her. Sometimes things strike me and they're stupid, and I'm rambling again.

But I do mean everything I'm about to say in love.

Spoilers on Twitter. The laws of spoilers-behind-cuts-and-filters have long been ingrained in LJ culture, but Twitter is still kind of new. So I guess I understand why there's some confusion, but guys? Everyone can see your twitter page. Even if it's locked, all your friends are still privy to that. I'm not spoilerfree yet, but I know people who are trying to be. Post the spoilers to another link, and post the link to Twitter; don't just straight-up post a spoiler to your feed. It's a matter of respect is all.

No, I will not defriend you. Over the past few months I've been seeing defriending amnesty posts, or people expressing unpopular opinions with a "feel free to defriend me" tag to the end. Whenever I disagree with someone on my flist, and talk about it with another friend, I'm always told to just defriend the antagonizing person. Why? In the real world, your friends don't have everything in common with you. I like everyone on my flist. I'm willing to make an effort to be their friend (even if I've been sucking at it lately, SCHOOL HAS EATEN MY LIFE GRAGGHARGH) if they're willing to make the same effort. Why do we let differences of fandoms or ship preferences dictate who we're friends with online? What do you gain from being friends only with everyone who thinks exactly the same as you? If you work through differences, or work hard at being friends with difficult people, you can grow as a person. That's just my philosophy. So yeah, you're all stuck with me. Deal with it.

Mishaland, I love you crazy people and I owe you some crack. Expect that soon. ALSO NEVER EVER STOP MAKING THOSE ROMANCE NOVELS. My life has been so vastly improved by Sam/Castiel and the likes of Come Sin With Me.

Alright, now I'm off to lunch. Have a delightful day, flist! <33

On Friday night, my laptop died.

It was still barely usable, but since the screen was flickering in and out, and I'm quite attached to its working properties, I decided to back it up rather than attempt using it. Thankfully the backup worked, so now I won't lose any of the massive amounts of art projects I've got going, but I did have to send it in to the shop.

Good news is they're fixing every known problem with it (even replacing two missing feet) free since it's under warranty. Bad news is it's gone for 3-5 days. Starting Sunday. So I'll likely not have it back til Thursday. I've been using Twitter intermittently, but for the most part.... This is kinda nice.

Don't get me wrong; at the end of the day sometimes I just want to lay back in bed and read a good fanfic and make fun of the internet with y'all, but in the afternoon? I went for a walk and painted yesterday. I'm turning into a goddamn artist without my computer constantly hanging over me. It's really nice. The forced break is definitely appreciated, is what I'm saying. I'm realizing how much time that I could be spending studying and doing better on projects I'm wasting on LJ and Reddit.

That said, it's ridiculous how hard life becomes when you don't have a computer. I can't send emails, I can't write papers or study guides without taking a trip home, and I have to squeeze all my [info]mishaland surfing into 15 minutes at the beginning of web design class. The worst is the study guides, though; it'd normally take me about 30 minutes to make a great study guide for my midterm tomorrow, but I'll spend all night writing it out tonight.

Anyways, enough griping. I'm currently in the Fine Arts lab leeching one of their computers because I'm awesome and who needs Marketing Class anyway. Today at 2PM, I have my advising appointment for next semester. Today at 2PM, I find out if I can logistically go to Disneyland in the spring. Right now I'm still waiting to be accepted to the program, but I've got a good feeling about that. I just need to know if I can finish my remaining 30-odd hours in two semesters. My mother's all concerned that if I don't graduate in the spring, I'll never find a job. I don't think anyone told her that it's highly unlikely I'll find a job anyway.

HAPPY THOUGHTS HAPPY THOUGHTS UMMMMMM CHICAGO! :D Is in a month! FROM TODAY HOLY CRAP HOW DID I NOT REALIZE THAT. And I got a swimsuit top last night for the POOL PARTY POOL PARTY. Now I just need to find some bottoms. Or not. IDK MISHA WILL BE THERE SO HAVING A BOTTOM ON IS KIND OF REDUNDANT AND FOOLISH, NO?

Alright I'm gonna stop talking about flashing the known world and get caught up on the internets. LATER, DUDES!

Pretty much my only motto in life is "if it makes me happy, I should keep doing it." For about a year, being intensely focused on the internet to the exclusion of all else has made me really happy. For the last 3 weeks, it really hasn't.

Guys, this is really hard for me to say, but I need to take a break from the internet. A long one. I just don't have the willpower to do it.

I love you guys. You're my closest friends. Before, that wasn't really a problem for me. But I've started sacrificing time with my IRL friends in favor of the internet. I'm not enjoying fandom at all right now. I just want out for a little while. I'll be back, you can bet your sweet ass I'll be back, but I don't think I'll be as deeply entrenched.

So... I'm going to attempt to go on hiatus. Even as I type that, I know I can't do it. But I have to at least try. I have to try something else for a little while.

I really do love you guys. I hope that you can respect me enough to accept this decision.

OH GOD I CAN SEE FOREVER.

I finally got a call from my friend Sabrina today, and she's going to pick me up and we're going to play Beatles Rock Band and I'm going to have THE BEST NIGHT EVER! :D I haven't seen her in like a month, so you know. Good times all around. Plus I think we're gonna have pizza. I haven't had pizza in a month either. CHEESE! PEPPERONI! BEATLES! SUPERNATURAL!

I slept through my first class this morning and I wish I could bring myself to regret it more, but I just can't. Those two extra hours were ~*glorious*~ and it's not like it was an important class or anything.

This weekend I'm going to apply for as many different internships as I can possibly find. I'm going to get a job, I'm going to get a job, I am going to get a job. One of them is for a semester working in Disneyland and idec, that shit sounds epic. I am, perhaps, trying to delay my inevitable eventual graduation because oh GOD it's creeping up on me.

Tuesday, while I was waiting to watch Castle with my mother (and busy setting up a Tivo search to watch for anything called Stonehenge Apocalypse starring Misha Collins), I found out she had removed my Season Pass on Supernatural to tape Grey's Anatomy. I was incredibly unamused, as she hasn't even watched Grey's Anatomy in two years, so this fuckery was a direct affront to me, obviously. She told me I could remove it if I set one up to record her show on the old Tivo (my parents have 4 DVR tuners and we STILL fill them up on Thursday's at 9). Come to find out that SHE ALREADY HAD A SEASON PASS ON THE OLD TIVO. My mother was DOUBLE-TAPING GREY'S ANATOMY. OVER SUPERNATURAL. AND SHE'S BEEN DOING THIS FOR 2 YEARS. My Hulk-smash-y rage has yet to settle.

Good news is my dad bulked up the new Tivo so we can store something like 1000 shows, so I get to keep every episode this year. I'm planning on some sort of massive marathon, probably during every single hiatus. I SHALL OVERCOME.

Anyways, yes, I will have a crack-filled rave about the episode as per usual this week; I'm going to aim for getting one up for every episode. Last year I missed an episode and it haunts me yea until this very day.

Well, it's been fun! I'm definitely going to do more memes like this in the future; I like having ideas on what to post about. XD

Anyways, I'm still in my first class and bored out of my mind (I completed my Supernatural site's layout; now I just have to write the content. In a week and a half. *facepalm*), and I was going through and clearing out my photobucket because I've never done that and their new arbitrary limitations are starting to catch up with me. In the course of deleting some really really old crap, I found some really really old art. And so I thought I'd share some of the horrors of my photobucket.

Enjoy. I think. )

Well that was a fun trip down memory lane. :)

"First of all, I love our fans. I love them to death. I love how passionate they are. But they tend to worry unnecessarily. They tend to get stressed before they have a chance to judge the finished product. We are so conscious and aware of our fans. We're making the show for the fans; we're not making the show for the network. We would never do anything to betray them. I'm not saying we're perfect. I'm not saying we don't make mistakes. But we're very conscious and aware. And when we do make mistakes, we course-correct. So if I can get any message to them, it's, 'Don't worry. We're making choices based on what's best creatively for the show.'" - Eric Kripke

WORD.

And, just because I love you all, and spent the last 20 minutes trawling through the ONTD post about Muse being absolutely AWESOME on some Italian TV show (they were forced to lip-sync with a backing track, so they all switched instruments and barely looked like they were trying and it was LOLARIOUS), and this was in the comments:

I Am A... @ Reddit

This site is how I manage to keep awake in Marketing class when there's no one online to entertain me. Reddit as a whole is a link aggregating site; you post a link to something online and other people vote it up if they like it; the more upvotes your submission has, the closer to the front page it gets. There are also sub-reddits for more specific topics. If you're ever truly bored and enjoy being disgusted or dumbstruck, I suggest the WTF sub-reddit. It's also entertaining.

But what's so great about the IAmA sub-reddit is the wide range of people who submit posts. I'm still waiting for Adam Savage to submit his (he's a well-known user of the site SHUT UP I LIKE STALKING HIM OK), but I've seen posts from all sorts of interesting people. There are people who talk about their jobs, bizarre abilities, weird situations they've been in, and all sorts of stuff. If you keep an eye out, you can find some truly interesting submissions.

There are always a couple trolls, but for the most part it's a really polite and nice little corner of reddit. I've always liked online things that spark conversation and this is definitely one of them.

Alright, my pretentious srs bizness hat is off. I'M READY FOR SUPERNATURAL TONIGHT FUCK YES. I did not watch the SPACE promo, so please don't spoil me. I'm excited enough just knowing y'all are excited. MY FRIENDS HAVE GOOD TASTE.
