On Friday night, my laptop died.
It was still barely usable, but since the screen was flickering in and out, and I'm quite attached to its working properties, I decided to back it up rather than attempt using it. Thankfully the backup worked, so now I won't lose any of the massive amounts of art projects I've got going, but I did have to send it in to the shop.
Good news is they're fixing every known problem with it (even replacing two missing feet) free since it's under warranty. Bad news is it's gone for 3-5 days. Starting Sunday. So I'll likely not have it back til Thursday. I've been using Twitter intermittently, but for the most part.... This is kinda nice.
Don't get me wrong; at the end of the day sometimes I just want to lay back in bed and read a good fanfic and make fun of the internet with y'all, but in the afternoon? I went for a walk and painted yesterday. I'm turning into a goddamn artist without my computer constantly hanging over me. It's really nice. The forced break is definitely appreciated, is what I'm saying. I'm realizing how much time that I could be spending studying and doing better on projects I'm wasting on LJ and Reddit.
That said, it's ridiculous how hard life becomes when you don't have a computer. I can't send emails, I can't write papers or study guides without taking a trip home, and I have to squeeze all my
mishaland surfing into 15 minutes at the beginning of web design class. The worst is the study guides, though; it'd normally take me about 30 minutes to make a great study guide for my midterm tomorrow, but I'll spend all night writing it out tonight.
Anyways, enough griping. I'm currently in the Fine Arts lab leeching one of their computers because I'm awesome and who needs Marketing Class anyway. Today at 2PM, I have my advising appointment for next semester. Today at 2PM, I find out if I can logistically go to Disneyland in the spring. Right now I'm still waiting to be accepted to the program, but I've got a good feeling about that. I just need to know if I can finish my remaining 30-odd hours in two semesters. My mother's all concerned that if I don't graduate in the spring, I'll never find a job. I don't think anyone told her that it's highly unlikely I'll find a job anyway.
HAPPY THOUGHTS HAPPY THOUGHTS UMMMMMM CHICAGO! :D Is in a month! FROM TODAY HOLY CRAP HOW DID I NOT REALIZE THAT. And I got a swimsuit top last night for the POOL PARTY POOL PARTY. Now I just need to find some bottoms. Or not. IDK MISHA WILL BE THERE SO HAVING A BOTTOM ON IS KIND OF REDUNDANT AND FOOLISH, NO?
Alright I'm gonna stop talking about flashing the known world and get caught up on the internets. LATER, DUDES!
